Andrew

Bartlow

Andrew Bartlow has almost 25 years of experience as a thought leader in organizational effectiveness, and as a practical operator linking business strategy to HR priorities inside corporations. In addition to advisory and mentoring activities through Series B Consulting, Andrew serves as an Operating Partner & Senior Advisor for Altamont Capital Partners, the cofounder and Network Director for WiseGrowth Networks, the cofounder and Managing Partner of People Leader Accelerator, and an HR Venture Advisor for SemperVirens Venture Capital

Before launching Series B Consulting, he led Human Resources for Waypoint Homes. As a senior member of Waypoint's leadership team, he was instrumental in the company's evolution from a real estate tech startup to a $14+ billion publicly-traded company (NYSE: INVH) that created a new asset class with its disruptive business model.

Prior to his time with Waypoint, Andrew was head of HR for 2,000+ technology, innovation, and digital marketing employees within a publicly-traded ed-tech company, while serving as their global HR lead for mergers and acquisitions.

​​

Over the course of his career, Andrew has participated in more than 11 M&A transactions, 6 significant scale-ups, as well as multiple IPOs, bankruptcies, and successful private equity sponsor exits. He has directly advised dozens of C-level executives, interacted regularly with public company board members, supported employee populations of 5,000+, built HR & recruitment functions from scratch, led teams with 20+ People professionals, and learned from the very best during his formative years at Pepsi and General Electric.

Andrew earned his Bachelor of Arts in Industrial-Organizational Psychology as well as a Master's degree in Human Resources and Industrial Relations from the University of Illinois, where he proudly served for over a decade on the alumni board of the top-ranked HR graduate school in the world.

 

He has served as the Co-President of Wells Fargo Volunteers, and has been a board member of the Biz World Foundation and a member of Full Circle Fund. He has been certified as a Senior Professional of Human Resources (SPHR), a Six Sigma Green Belt, a Certified Executive Compensation Professional (CECP), a certified Berkeley Executive Coach (BECI), and he continues to speak and write on matters related to organizational effectiveness.

Andrew was born and raised in East Peoria, Illinois, lived all over the United States, and has traveled abroad extensively, and now resides in Danville, CA. When not working or "Daddy-ing", Andrew devours books like they're doughnuts and tries to work off real doughnuts on the tennis court.

Brad Harris, Ph.D. is an award winning researcher and teacher focused on topics like human resource management, group and team dynamics, leadership, and people analytics. In addition to serving as a Senior Advisor at Series B Consulting, Brad is an Associate Professor at the Neeley School of Business at Texas Christian University and holds a joint appointment with the School of Labor and Employment Relations at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

 

Brad’s research has been published in leading academic journals and featured in numerous popular press outlets, including the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Harvard Business Review, NBC’s The Today Show, Inc.com, and Fast Company. He has co-authored two books, including 3D Team Leadership: A New Approach for Complex Teams (with Bradley Kirkman; Stanford University Press, 2017) and Scaling for Success: People Priorities People Priorities for High Growth Organizations (with Andrew Bartlow; Columbia University Press, expected release 2021). Further, Brad currently serves as an Associate Editor at the Journal of Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management, and is a member of several journal editorial boards, including the Journal of Applied Psychology, Personnel Psychology, Journal of Management, The Leadership Quarterly, and the Journal of Business and Psychology. Beyond his research accomplishments, he has won multiple teaching awards for his work at the undergraduate, master’s, Ph.D., and executive level.

Prior to becoming a professor, Brad worked in the finance and energy sectors. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University (finance), an MBA from the University of Florida (human resource management, finance), and a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University (organizational behavior and human resource management). He was a founding partner of Science-Practice Analytics Network (SPAN), a workforce analytics platform aimed at facilitating more fruitful collaborations between leading researchers/data scientists and organizational leaders. At Series B, Brad leverages his diverse background to advance rigorous, evidence-based solutions to client challenges. He was instrumental in developing the curriculum for People Leader Accelerator offering, an affiliated educational program.
